Alarm Monitoring

Nothing is more important than knowing that your family, home and property are secure and safe from injury or damage. Security Solutions NW can give you peace of mind with customized solutions designed to meet your specific needs ... and your budget.

Commercial Fire Alarm Monitoring

Fire alarm systems are required to be connected to a central monitoring station. The alarm is connected 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to a monitoring station that receives the alarm signal in a matter of seconds and then alerts the fire department and you* when there is a fire event.  Fire alarm systems require two analog phone lines (one primary and one back-up) that are dedicated to the building. These lines may be used for other purposes but the alarm system is connected in “capture” position so that it seizes the line for the alarm signal when there is an alarm. In some jurisdictions other transmission methods are now available, such as AES radio transmission or internet transmission. These methods have the advantage of eliminating the phone line cost, but their availability is limited. (Check with your alarm monitoring service for specifics on your area.)

Fire alarm monitoring must also be “supervised,” meaning the monitoring station is required to send a signal at least once every 24 hours to the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) to verify the transmission is active.

Home Alarm Monitoring

When your alarm is monitored, you are notified immediately in the event of an intrusion or fire alarm. Your alarm is connected 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to a local alarm monitoring  station that receives the alarm signal in a matter of seconds. With a monitored alarm system, you have peace of mind knowing when an alarm event or a trouble event (power failure, low battery, etc.) occurs, a person at the monitoring station will notify you* and the authorities (police, guard service or fire).

*You provide a list of call-out phone numbers that includes anyone you want notified when there is an alarm event.
